Barbara
On Barbara’s fourteenth birthday, her mother gave her a German shepherd puppy, whom she named Sola. The bond between the two was instant and inseparable. Sola would even go to Barbara’s high school to pick her up every day. This special relationship between a girl and her loyal canine companion would ultimately influence Barbara’s desire to one day work in the veterinary industry.
Barbara’s journey began as a receptionist at a different vet clinic where her daughter was working at the time. After spending a decade there, she decided to join both of her daughters at Marina Village Veterinary in July of 2022. As part of our client relations team, Barbara takes great pride in helping our clients and loves playing a role in the health and happiness of their beloved pets.
Outside of work, Barbara has three human children and two fur babies: a cat named Roo who sits and gives high-fives, and a Doberman named Misha who loves to chase the laser light. In her spare time, Barbara enjoys gardening and shopping for antiques.
Seretha
Seretha has been working with animals in some capacity for several years. She started at a local animal shelter, where she served as a voice for those who are unable to speak for themselves.
As a Client Service Representative here at Marina Village Veterinary, Seretha is the first point of contact for our clients and helps to ensure that their communications make it to our nurses and doctors. Her favorite part of the job is assisting pet parents and making sure their fur babies receive the best care.
Savannah
Savannah grew up in Southern California with two dogs, a cat, and two hamsters growing up. She always went to her friend’s and family’s houses and ended up sitting next to the pets. She went to Arizona State University where she got her first pet as an adult. Knowshona provided her with the love and companionship she truly needed in her early 20s. In 2019 Savannah and her boyfriend moved to Oakland and during this phase of transition she found herself changing career paths using her customer service experience background to apply as a client service representative (receptionist) at VCA Bay Area Animal Hospital.
She loved connecting with clients and their pets. She learned so much from the doctors and support staff. She quickly became one of the pharmacy technicians there and then began to be cross trained as a doctor’s assistant, eventually, assisting in rooms. Here, Savannah adopted a 4 week old kitten, Kovu, that was brought into the hospital by a Good Samaritan. In 2021 Savannah and her boyfriend made the journey back to Arizona where Savannah transferred to VCA University Animal Hospital. There she truly began her transition from reception to technician. She assisted in rooms, trained in treatment, managed medical boarders, provided care for hospitalized patients, and eventually became part of the surgery and dental department of the hospital.
During her time there she ended up with Ketchup, her pug, who she helped nurse back to health after a trying battle with parvo. Savannah became a trainer of new hires and even helped implement a new documentation program for exam room nurses. Savannah and her family found themselves back in the Bay Area yet again in May of 2024 where Savannah began as a technician at Marina Village Veterinary. Savannah chose Marina Village Veterinary for the exposure to the Integrative Medicine MVV provides. She quickly versed herself in shockwave, prp, and early detection of osteoarthritis radiographs. She is now a surgical trainer at MVV and one of the lead technicians here.
She plans on enrolling in school to complete an RVT program in the next enrollment period and is in the works of becoming PennHip radiology certified. Savannah completed the Coursersa courses “Dog Emotion and Cognition” and “Animal Behavior and Welfare” in 2020 and “Royal Canin American Association of Feline Practitioners Certification Program” in 2024.

Carolina is a dedicated Veterinary Nurse within our clinic, bringing her passion for animal care and years of experience to our team. She joined our practice after spotting an employment ad while working at VCA, eager to expand her skills in a new environment.
From a young age, Carolina knew her calling lay in caring for animals. Her journey began at just 10 years old, volunteering with a cat rescue, where she experienced the joy of ensuring these furry
companions were looked after. This early experience ignited her love for animals, particularly cats, shaping her path towards becoming a veterinary professional.
What truly inspires Carolina in her work is witnessing the profound bond between pets and their owners. She believes in treating every animal with the same love and compassion as if they were her own, recognizing them as cherished family members.

Danielle
Nearly fifteen years ago, Danielle had reached a crossroads in her career. She was itching for a change, but wasn’t quite sure what direction to go in. That is, until she came across an ad for vet tech school and suddenly it clicked! Not only did she love animals, but she already had experience with medicine and caregiving. It seemed like the perfect fit, so she took the plunge and hasn’t regretted a single moment.
In her role as a veterinary nurse, Danielle has a special interest in drawing blood and all things related to lab work. It’s a skill that has helped her overcome her own fear of needles, and she appreciates the vital information that it provides to better help our patients. She also really enjoys client education, helping pet owners understand what we are recommending and why.
At home, Danielle is pet mom to three fur babies of her own, including a dog named Gumbo, who prefers shredding paper towels and tossing the pieces in the air to catch over actual toys, a cat named Donna Summers, who is also not a fan of real toys but would rather play fetch with candy wrappers and small pieces of crumpled up paper, and a dog named Master TJ, who is practically blind, but nothing gets past him! He’s the manager of the home, hence the name.
Hayley
Like most of her colleagues, Hayley decided to pursue a career in the veterinary field because of her deep love of animals. She’s always wanted to be the person who is there to comfort them and help them through whatever they’re going through. Hayley also loves talking to pet owners and making sure they know their babies are safe and loved while in our care!
Hayley’s journey began several years ago as a kennel technician, followed by a job at an animal shelter where she learned about enrichment and behavior. After leaving the field for a short period of time, Hayley followed her heart and found her way back. In January 2022, she joined the Marina Village Veterinary team, working alongside her sister. Her favorite part of the job is winning the trust of nervous dogs.
At home, Hayley has one fur baby of her own: an Akita mix named Juno who is incredibly smart and can do lots of tricks. She also has several reptiles and a few frogs. Hayley’s two favorite hobbies are photography and dog training.

Jenn
My journey at Marina Village commenced in January 2024, where I assumed the role of a dedicated technician. Driven by a lifelong passion for animal care, I embarked on this professional path with vigor. While initially immersed in the realm of human medicine, I soon realized my true calling lay within the domain of veterinary science. Determined to pursue my vocation, I transitioned to become a Vet Tech, with aspirations of attaining the esteemed title of Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
Reflecting on cherished memories, one incident stands out from my childhood. I vividly recall a spirited Chihuahua, renowned for his spirited demeanor, exhibiting unusual behavior. Drawing inspiration from cinematic narratives such as “Snow Dogs,” I identified a potential dental issue and, with precision and empathy, addressed the problem, thereby fostering a day of boundless canine affection.
A pivotal moment in my professional trajectory occurred when I elected to depart from my previous employment and secure a position at a local emergency animal hospital. This transition marked a significant milestone, with immediate recognition of my capabilities leading to swift employment.
Within the dynamic realm of veterinary medicine, I derive profound fulfillment from nurturing connections with our animal companions, empowering pet owners with knowledge, and witnessing the transformative journey toward enhanced well-being in our patients.
Nicole
Growing up in the Bay Area, animals were always one of Nikky’s biggest interests – from large ocean creatures to the tiniest of insects. At one point, she even considered becoming a marine biologist because she wanted to help save sharks. Nikky began volunteering at a wildlife rehabilitation facility when she was 15 before moving into the veterinary field. This isn’t just a job for her. It’s her passion. She puts her all into what she does and always strives to treat every patient she encounters as if they were one of her own.
Nikky’s first official title was kennel attendant, a role which she held at age 17. She immediately knew she’d found her passion, and now – more than two decades later – she can’t imagine doing anything else. Professionally, Nikky has a special interest in dentistry because she loves helping pets feel better through dental care. She also enjoys the process of problem solving when diagnosing a patient and has a knack for winning the trust of scared or anxious animals.
Of all the patients Nikky has worked with throughout her career, the one who sticks out the most was her very own Osiris, a pit bull who was abandoned and deemed “unadoptable” due to a skin condition that caused him to lose most of the hair on his body. Everyone who knew Osiris adored him. Over the years, he helped Nikky with countless fosters, welcoming kittens and puppies alike, and was a blood donor who saved the lives of nine other dogs. While Osiris is no longer with us, Nikky credits him with her drive to advocate for every animal she comes into contact with.
Outside of the clinic, Nikky lives with her husband and their plethora of pets, which includes three dogs, two cats, two leopard geckos, 13 frogs, two mourning geckos, two isopod colonies, two millipedes, four jumping spiders, and 17 tarantulas. When she’s not busy working or tending to her own personal zoo, Nikky enjoys reading and crocheting. She has a personal interest in entomology and is also a licensed esthetician.
